I got a 1942 dime in my change a while back. Its pretty cool, and has Hermes/Mercury on it instead of the regular dude.

I remember getting a $5 bill with the blue ink instead of green. I remember looking and it was worth like $8

...and it's minted of real silver. :D

I just lost mine not too long ago. I bet that's it. Could you mail it back to me? My address is...

On the contrary, it's worth a penny.

Think of the value of that penny back in 1920... Now you make me curious to go exploring for info on what that could buy back then. I bet it's mind boggling compared to today.

    Peace

I was sure I found a Roman coin once, when I was a kid digging out in the garden. I wish I had it now. Mind you, thinking about it, with sedimentation, stratification, and all that buildup of shite over the centuries, it's fookin' unlikely it was very old.
  • This all started with my 2 year old, I was showing him the dates on coins, and telling him what people were born that year. I also found 3 1955 pennies, which it turns out could be worth a couple hundred, if they're "double printed". There's also a dime worth 6 figures if its in good condition. Fascinating stuff. If you ever get a silver penny, keep that thing.

I had to wonder, just how many people have touched that penny?
