I've had back and neck problems for years. Had an MRI Monday, and found out today I have a "Right L5 Nerve Root Cyst". My heel has been numb for the last week, and when it's not numb, it's very painful. I have appts this week with my physical therapist, a Pain Mgmt MD, and a neurologist. Unfortunately, my orthopedist, who has operated on my neck and shoulder moved out of state, and I've had no luck finding a new one. On my search for a new one, I saw one who told me it's in my head (prior to the MRI's) and one who doesn't take appointments, but "reviews your case, and calls you if he needs to see you". So anyone know much about these nerve root cysts?
On an unrelated note, if you're on Long Island, do not ever go to Zwanger Pesiri for diagnostic Imaging. They've missed stuff with me before, like herniations, tears, etc... but I was at my neurologist recently, and she called them to tell them she noticed an anuerysm on a patient's MRI that they had missed. she did this with me in the room, as it was pretty urgent, and they called her back while she was in with me.
