They have officially split up. Chris Russo has left WFAN, and Mike Frances has agreed to a contract extension and will fly solo from here on out

Chris wanted to try and fly solo, the station wanted to lock him up to a long term contract, as they did with Mike, and he did not want to, and decided to leave.

He is going to sign up to Siriusxm and be there sports talk guy, he is taking a big chance to try and become even bigger than he is now in NY, but goodluck to him.

I grew up listening to the station, and I enjoyed there show over the years. I have a very love hate, with both of them more recently, but they still do a better interview when it works than anyone else out there.

Chris called into the show on Friday during the first 20 minutes, and he started to break down, until Mike made a joke to get him off the hook.

Been a loyal listener for over 12 years. I was bummed out. I don't think I could listen to Mike without the Dog. They were a great team, perfect chemistry. I got sirius for Howard Stern but now knowing I can still get the Dog makes it all that more special. I'll still listen to Steve "The Schmooze" Somers on Fan but I am pretty much gonna be done with a solo Francessa.

It was nice to hear some genuine emotion out of Mike although he was his usual stoic self, you could tell he was feeling the emotion. Chris was losing it and your right, Mike saved his ass with a joke. I wonder what this means for Scott Ferrall on sIRIUS, will he remain on howard 101 or will they start a new sports channel?
