Dear ESPN and rest of the east coast media-

Sorry our star from flyover country won the Home Run Derby and ruined your Josh Hamilton party.

I'm gonna go with an underdog, Justin Morneau. He's got a perfect Yankee Stadium swing. Think Don Mattingly, but more power. Or Mattingly before his back crapped out on him.

    Utley should do well too

    Good call. :D

good call on morneau, but that hamilton display was amazing. just to watch as those balls sailed well over the wall and how quickly they got out was amazing.

as a sidenote, the event is a mass of humanity in terms of media people, more than any playoff game i've ever been to.

  • wow, talk about getting lucky on a prediction. Hamilton should have stopped in the 1st round. He wore himself out. Morneau felt guilty accepting the award. I think if he could, he'd cut it in half and split it with Hamilton.

Now watch, Hamilton will hit 5 HR's in the 2nd half, and next year's derby will feature Miguel Cairo, Michael Bourn and Luis castillo

I love Justin he is on my fantasy team and all, but last night was really Josh Hamilton's night. It is one of those occasions where that "no one remembers who finishes second" does not hold true. People will remember the Josh Hamilton show and unfortunately Justin will probably be mostly forgotten.

That was fun watching last night i can't wait for the All star game tonight.

those were some HR's! Whoa! I don't get why Morneau won though, b/c he had the most HR's in the final round? That doesn't make sense to me

  • They start over for the Finals. Normally that makes sense. When you have something like what hamilton did last night, then it looks silly. 9 out of 10, it's not much of an issue
