ok I know this is lame but I really really want to keep the years worth of playcounts that I have going here. anyone know of a way to do this? There is the option of exporting the library but I don't even know what that does, so yeah...suggestions?

I believe you have deauthorize the current computer. Authorize the new computer (after, of course, downloading iTunes) and you will be able to access your music.

Although this could be the answer to something totally different from the question you are asking.

I refuse to use a program as un-user friendly and invasive as iTunes. I guess that's why I'll never by an iPod.

It's funny because my friend and I were talking about how stupid easy and enjoyable Itunes is to use earlier today.

Wha? iTunes is what you make it... It can be incredibly detailed or catastrophically out of order.

It can be incredibly limiting and restrictive as well.
