My dogs are awesome! They are Alaskan Malamutes, i originally had one, then my Mom's best friend bought a girl so we could mate them, then we kept one of the boy puppies, so we had the father and son. Sadly, the father passed away last year, he was 14 years old, he was 150lbs and his son is now 8 years old and 160lbs. We got lucky though, dogs that large dont usually live to be that old. We bought a girl from a well known kennel in Pennsylvania she is 1 yr and 6 months we are trying to get them to mate so we can have puppies again, but as you can see in the picture, The boy dog has a funny sense of humor, he thought he was doing porn, HIS LIPSTICK IS STICKING OUT, but he is almost 80lbs more than her so every time he tries to get his groove on, she is so small and too fast for him so she runs away before he can get the job done. (In the picture thats me on the left,Dusty the girl dog, and Dillinger the boy dog "named after John Dillinger the mobster", Dakota was Dillinger's father who passed away last year, the picture is from last year's Christmas and he was too sick to be in it, he kept having seizures, then finally on February 5th he had a stroke, then a seizure he couldnt come out of, so we took him to the vet and knew we had to put him down, the vet said that we could get him to stop having the seizure and he would still live for a little while, but there was no guarantee of how long, it could've been only the next day, and on top of that he wouldnt remember us or know anything because the seizure went on for almost 2 hours before we got him out of it, but there is nothing we could've done differently, he had a good life, and the vet stopped the seizure so he could stay alive just long enough for us to say goodbye.)
Seriously though, if anyone is ever thinking about getting a large breed dog, definitely consider getting an Alaskan Malamute, they are big but think they are small, they are one of the most gentle breeds i have ever seen & they lay on your feet to keep you warm in the morning (especially here in Chicago where we need it. Love them, i'll let you guys know if Dillin ever plants the seed, and to expect puppies.0
