I had to read the entire series in religion class of 7th grade catholic school. After having the nun cram her religious interpretations of the books down my throat I never wanted to read them again.civ_eng_girl said:I'm reading the Chronicals of Narnia right now...
I've had a box-set of all 7 stories since i was a little kid...
It was funny to pull it off the shelf, and find that the only one that was ever opened was The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe!!
(I guess the thought of reading 7 books back to back was a little daunting when I was 8 years old! )
I'm glad I picked them up... The Magician's Nephew is my favorite so far!0 -
I have just started juggling to different rock and roll memoirs at once. The first Life On The Road by Dinky Dawson (Fleetwood Mac's sound man) and the other is This Wheel's On Fire by Levon Helm. I like rock and roll.0

dankind, how do you like the book? I read one by him about expatriates, and I liked it.

Awesome book! My favorite if his. I read it when it came out in 2001, and I figured it was high time for another read. I also love his book on the Brooklyn Bridge, and 1776 is a classic.Ms. Haiku said:dankind, how do you like the book? I read one by him about expatriates, and I liked it.
I never picked up the Americans in Paris book, though. I should check it out.I SAW PEARL JAM0 -
I love David McCullough so much. I've never read the Adams book though. I'm guessing it's great.
I just finished this and it's fantastic. I wrote a book blog about it. Don't let the religion scare you off. The first line of the book is, "'Shit,' I thought to myself, 'I'm going to be late to New Testament class.'"

I just so happened to have read that book earlier this summer on a friend's recommendation. I was glad I did when I went to Chicago and visited the only remaining structure from the White City, The Museum of Science and Industry.PJ1973 said:

A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
Easily the best book i've ever read and i'm only 50 pages in. Certain writers have a gift of putting substance and packing a punch into every single sentence.Worcester1 13, Worcester2 13, Hartford 13, San Diego 13, Los Angeles1 13, Los Angeles2 13

This is one of my favorite books ever. I didn't know anything about this and flew through this book. H H Holmes was executed less than a mile from my house and there is a grocery store on the site of the prison.PJ1973 said:
