Ok, I admit I'm late to this party. I did buy GH3 and liked it, I liked the sound most of all as you could turn it up and it actually sounded like you were playing a concert. The signers in GH3 sounded like the real singers. So I went back and bought GH2. I think it is terrible. Terrible sound, terrible singing, and not the original singers instead something like cheap cover bands.

So for those that have played RB 1 and 2 which GH do they most compare in sound to? I want it to jam and I want the real singer's vocals.

I believe in all of these games there's a mix of the two - songs 'as performed by' and songs 'as made famous by'.
Overall the songlist of all these games is a pile of shit, but who am I to say.
  • GH2 was mostly all covers, with GH3 and RB1 going to mostly originals.

However the new RB2 and GH4 are exclusively master tracks, so you don't have to worry about any more cheesy vocals.

Sure there's something for everyone, but too much for no one.
  • GH2 was mostly all covers, with GH3 and RB1 going to mostly originals.

However the new RB2 and GH4 are exclusively master tracks, so you don't have to worry about any more cheesy vocals.

    RB2 is great
If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?

    Thanks.
  • Rock Band 1 & 2 owns any version of GH.
    Underneath this smile lies everything
all my hopes, anger, pride and shame...
  • I can play Painkiller on my acoustic drums, but damn if I can't even get through the intro to it on RB2

    Agreed.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
