Worst week ever.

It started off with my truck being stolen a week ago, still hasn't been recovered. Then on Friday night I get the news that my aunt passed away. It didn't come as a surprise as she has been battling cancer for a few years now and in the last fews months she really started to go down hill. My father was really affected as he was really close to her. Then this morning I get the news that my great uncle, on my mother's side, in Florida passed away. Both deaths really affected me. I was really close to my aunt and my great uncle used to take me fishing every year on his boat when I was younger. This week really sucks and he worst part is I can't even go down to Florida for the funeral.

    Thanks. I guess it's something I better get used to. My grandparents generation is getting up there in age. My grandparents passed away years ago but my great aunts and uncles are getting to that point in life. On my father's side everyone from that generation has passed away but on my mother's side I still have 5 great aunts and their husbands and on great uncle and his wife. It's sad because we are a very tight knit family and that generation was our connection back to our roots. As a youngling I could remember my cousins and I sitting around our grandparents and great aunts and uncles completely mesmerized by their stories of Cuba. Even as I got older, I would sit for hours with my grandmother listening to stories.

    maybe the last two things made the first thing not seem as bad? ... sorry for your loss ...

    Ok well that puts my sucky week in perspective..

    I am sorry to hear about your losses and hope the good memories will stay strong in your mind.
