Well I have been thinking about this since I was laid off a month ago and I finally decided to go back to school. Back in college I came very close to leaving St. John's University to attend the Culinary Institute. I have decided that I will pursue a degree in Culinary Arts. I'm meeting with a rep from the school this week to discuss admissions and finacial aid. I'm so scared and ecited to be making this dramatic change in my life. So much has transoired in my life over the past year and a half but I feel like this is the right thing to do.

That's awesome! I think it's really great when people shift gears like that after having one career for a while. I think that's what life is all about! :D

Good luck and congrats on making the decision! :)

Awesome! I admire people who go forward with a big change in their life. I wish you best of luck in this "adventure"..

My mom has a masters degree in social work and was a therapist for years. She realized her true passion was in computers and design. She went back to school for some classes and now she's been a computer programmer for 10 years and LOVES it. It was a huge switch, but it was awesome to see her follow a passion and get what she wanted from it. I hope you find the same success.
