I'm thinking about going in June.
Has anyone been?
Any tips? Suggestions?
Thanks!
Happy New Year!

It's a dream trip of ours, too. Let me know if you decide to go and tell me all about it!
"But --you say that Dreams have no power here? Tell me, Lucifer Morningstar...Ask yourselves, all of you...What power would hell have if those here imprisoned were not able to Dream of Heaven?" Dream speaking to Lucifer as written by Neil Gaiman.
I've figured a few things out.
*Fly in to Anchoage, it's a shorter ride from Fairbanks, but the flight there is much more expensive.
*Denali bus from Achorage to the Denali Visitor Center ($90 round trip)
*No private cars allowed in the park past about 20 miles
*Buses run from the park entrance, kinda like city buses, with stops throughout the park. Hop off when you want to get off for a hike or to camp. Wave another bus down to catch a ride somewhere else. It's like wilderness hitchhiking! $22.50 for a bus pass.
*Get a Backcountry Pass or reserve a campsite at one of the campgrounds
*They have the park divided up in to sections. When you get a backcountry pass you're supposed to stay in a section assigned to you. Each section is a huge land mass, and they only allow a few people in each section at a time. You're pretty much garanteed that you won't run in to any other people.
*Backcountry hikers must have a bear proof food container
*You can bike (bicycle) in to the park for free
