give of yourself...
say something nice... something 'real'...
Look someone you love straight in the eye and tell them how much they mean to you, how great a lover/partner/etc... they are...
... tell them how much you love touching their skin or kissing them... snuggling up with them ...
it doesn't have to be a 'commercial holiday'... it is what you make it...

well if you are happy with that... that's a very different story! Lots of people really enjoy shopping for and presenting gifts! That's cool too...
My original thought when posting was about all the people that complain about this being a 'fake' holiday and that they 'have' to put themselves out in order to appease someone else...
I think gifts chosen with love and excitement as opposed to grudgery and expectation ... are the best of all

I agree. Hubby and I don't usually celebrate VD because our first date was on February 17, 1989, so we celebrate that! Also, pretty much everyday is Valentine's Day...you know, just because...
