What have some of you guys gotten or given for groomsmen gift. I have a week to decide and can't come up with anything good. Ideally cuff links are NOT an option & I would like to stay away from watches.

when i was a best man, the groom bought tickets to go golfing at a nice golf course. we love the idea.

I was given a Ten album framed very nicely!
    Great gift!
  • I would say make is specific to your groomsmen. My cousin got all of his groomsmen gift cards to home depot...they're all married have homes and like to work on their yards/houses. If they all like to drink, get em flasks or beer mugs or something w/ an inscription on them. That said, i have no clue what i'm getting my groomsmen. I still have three months to go though :D

Here's my bigger question? What are popular gifts for the bride on the wedding day? I really have no clue on how much i should spend or what i should get :o

  • Im getting married in about 4 weeks and I bought all my boys a pair of rainbow sandals (we are wearing them in the wedding) and some random tie that my fiancee picked out.

In the past I have been given a flask and a bottle of booze!

Are you trying to keep this under some sort of budget? Money clips and flasks, although useful, are kinda played out. My buddy Kevin, when I was in his wedding a few years back, got all of the groomsmen sports jerseys... I got an old Joe Dumars jersey, one of the guys got an old Doc Gooden jersey, another one got an old Buffalo Sabres jersey... it was cool because he actually took the time and got a gift specifically for each guy. I had a small wedding (just a best man and that was it), but he's a big Detroit Tigers fan like me, and I got him a pair of seats from old Tiger Stadium.

Obviously old jerseys can get expensive, but I'm a firm believer in getting something that has a bit of meaning for each guy. Shouldn't be too hard to do, because I'm guessing that if they're in your wedding you know them fairly well.

    thats easy

    hookers.
    ;)

a lot of gifts are played out.

but I once got an engraved bar set-kinda fancy
and we use the bottle opener all the time.

kinda cool, but it wasnt cheap like $200 I think in a nice leather case
  • This is why we're only doing a best man/matron of honor. Our wedding is already getting pretty expensive (especially with a Pearl Jam New York honeymoon added on) its nice not to worry about this kind of stuff.

I got my groomsmen some really nice drinking mugs, steins, and shot glasses. For the Cardinal fans in the group, I got some nice 2006 World Series Champion mugs/steins/shot glasses, and for the Cubs fans they got ones that said 1908 World Series Champions.

Just to rub it in a little more.

My only groomsman is my brother and I got him a set of 6 pint glasses from his favorite brewery (Leinenkugel). I'm going to have one of them engraved with his name.

I bought mine all Tommy Bahama silk hawaiian shirts. They also didn't have to pay for a thing other than the flight or drive down to our wedding location.
