Has anyone ever seen this show or know what it's really all about? I believe it's on Fuse, and It turns out my band has been picked to audition as one of the NYC bands competing, which is pretty cool, we're excited. It was really just one of those things that you enter your band in because, "Hey, ya never know," and now I'm trying to find out the real deal with this thing... Anyone else on here in the same boat? It all looks pretty legit from what I've researched.
Thanks,

UPDATE!!!
After winning 3 other rounds in the competition...
My band has reached the Regional Finals of the Bodog Competition, putting us one victory away from getting onto the Bodog Battle of the Bands TV show! We now have to battle it out with 4 other NYC bands, 4 Boston bands, and 4 Philly bands @ IRVING PLAZA on March 5th! Fuckin sweet! I can tell people I've played on the same stage as Pearl Jam, if nothing else! Wish us luck! If you're in the area, stop by!
Thanks,

It was a decently entertaining "reality" TV show. The final ten bands went out on the road (in Bodog tour buses) and stopped in cities like Cleveland, New Orleans, Austin, Vegas, LA. Each stop usually had some sort of "band challenge", where the winning band would win immunity from elimination. There would be a showcase performed in each city, and the worst band got voted off by attending audience (50%) and the judging panel (50%). The judges were Johnny Rotten, Bif Naked and the guitarist from The Cult.
I don't know how the final ten bands got picked, but none of them were really deserving of a million-dollar recording contract which was awarded to the winning band. The winning band of season one was a Green Day-type of pop/punk band, I can't remember their names.
The best part of each episode was the band challenges. In one town, the bands had to walk/run to eight different bars in an area, and had twenty minutes to go in, eat and drink everything the bar set out for them (including a ton of alcohol!), set up and play one song, then leave and repeat this process at the seven other bars. The band to complete the circuit the fastest won. In Vegas, the bands had to select their best song they feel would be ideal for strippers to dance to. The songs were then played while the strippers performed, and the strippers then voted on which one they liked the best.
All in all, not a bad thing to have on TiVO. But again, the talent of the bands was pretty questionable. VH1 Bands on the Run was a far superior show.

Thanks for the reply! Oh man, when I think about my band having to stuff down food and booze repeatedly, I question that anyone can beat us-- at least on that challenge, ha ha.
We're definitely getting more amped over this thing the more we learn about it... It's pretty sweet that in some ways, we've come so far in this competition without barely doing anything besides setting up and account / webpage with Bodog. We have to beat out 47 other bands in the Manhattan "battle ground" to actually make it on the show.
I'm gonna try and catch a few episodes before we have to perform on the 24th...
Thanks!
Congrats! That's terrific news! If I'm free I'll try and come to your show.
