Man, that game is ADDICTIVE.

It's a free game where a number of match-ups are posted daily. The match-ups can be pretty standard (my last choice was Oregan State beating Cal), or pretty wacky (one of tonight's match-ups is the number of TDs Alabama will score against Mississippi State vs. the winning margin for Kentucky against Vanderbilt).

The goal, of course, is to build a streak. The first to 25 wins a MILLION dollars. The highest entrant right now has 21.

I kind of gave up on the 25 in a row last month, realizing that it's just based too much on luck. So, I decided to play for the most monthly wins -- it has a $2,500 dollar prize -- and it basically requires me to be checking scores CONSTANTLY, because you can only choose your next pick when your current one ends. If you are not on the computer at the right time and miss out on picking a game, it really screws you over, because it gives everyone else a chance to jump a game ahead.

I'm doing pretty well right now. The leader for November has 28 wins and I have 26. It's kind of funny to see my entry -- "Pearl Jam Fan" -- on the picks page because I am on the current leaderboard.

It's crazy, though, because some of the match-ups are for sports I would NEVER follow otherwise -- women's golf, Austrian-league soccer, etc. Now all of a sudden I find myself watching those sports just to see how my pick is going to do. :o
