So sad.... please don't buy a puppy from a pet store...this is what you support when you do.

    Sickening isn't it ??

    I hate seeing that

I'm always torn because you feel bad for the puppy and don't want them to suffer in a Pet Store but if you buy the puppy you're supporting these assholes

I can't imagine my dogs parents having to live their lives out in a kennel. My Petey's sire and dam are well taking care of and do get out to train, and exercise...but every dogs belongs in a home with people who love and cherish them. I will never again support that sort of breeder. Somewhere around 4 million dogs get euthenised every single year....I will rescue dogs from here on in, my Petey is my first and last purchased purebred dog.

what about the kitties in the pet stores? Are there such things as kitten mills? But i am definitely adopting a dog at a kennel when I get one.....whenever that is!

cats can't add, but they sure can multiply! I think the great outdoors is the biggest "kitten mill" of all... spay and neuter your animals, people!

On Maui last december, we saw some backyard dog breeders (puppy mills) right in peoples' front yards. Actually, on the way to Jaws there's one at the beginning of the road - a sad-looking obviously over-bred female and many many many cages..dogs chained up and lying in the shade under a trampoline...That inspired us to help out the Maui Humane Society before we left...The same thing goes on where we live, but people usually hide it pretty well, which sucks...

One of our dogs is a rescue dog, but he's also a pet store dog...previous owners bought him as a yorkie puppy, but he's a hairy 40 pound knee grazer - so they took him to the pound at 4 months old. We got him from the SPCA at 7 months old...He was a Christmas puppy...

Puppy mills and over breeding suck. THat's owning dogs for all the wrong reasons!

Back Yard Breeders and Greeders can be grouped along with the Mills too. If the person breeding dogs isn't willing to take back one of their offspring for the life of the dog, no matter what the reason, they have no business breeding their dog. Personally I think all breeding of Purebred AKC registered dogs should require a license and you should have to be involved with showing or working the dogs to even qualify. Random breedings of two purebred dogs just because they are a beloved pet or you want to experience a litter, need to be stopped too. No dog deserves to be treated like livestock.

ugh i couldnt get through that entire video.
    its so depressing.

i hate going to pet stores and seeing all the little animals in cages and such. we got our dog from a breeder... i'm not sure if its much better?

the shitty thing about adopting (at least around here) is that the SPCA charges you so much to adopt nowadays, that its no wonder they're having a problem getting the animals into homes. i was talkign to one of my coworkers who's daughter was adopting a dog through an SPCA shelter, and so far its already cost her over 300 dollars to get the dog...

anyways, excuse me while i go run and give my dog a hug  i need to after seeing this!

Those poor dogs. I really wish I had alot of money and a bigger house, I would seriously adopt every dog in the world!!

I don't feel so bad about spoiling my boy now. I guess that's all we can do is take the best care of our own dogs.

Dogs rule and they do not belong locked up.
Is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?
