  • I don't think there was anything wrong with the last one but I know I'm in the minority.

This one looks good but with a great actor like Ed Norton it's a shame there has to be so many glossy special effects.. I don't know what this one has over the last one, except for more blockbusting, money-making sheen.

You are not in the minority. I really loved the first one. I liked the whole father /son story. I know the Hulk had too many feelings and was too reflective for most, but I liked that bit of introspection as well. I also appreciated Ang Lee's attempt at something different in the cinematography. Nevertheless, like you, I know most people did not like the first Hulk.

With that said, the new version looks F'ing cool. I think is is a great cast. Plus, the Hulk seems back to his old rampaging self.

    'nuff said.

I really liked the first one until the end. It felt like the producers decided to smoke a shitload of weed and cheech and chong the ending..what the fuck was all that swirling mess of silliness?

I'm curoius and really want to like this next one, but i'm a little surprised Ed Norton is doing this one.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

Could be worse - like Starship Troopers where they apparently ran out money out of the blue...

The cast is fantastic. could be good, probably won't be.

    It looks rubbish.

Hulk vs..... another Hulk! Kinda stupid to pit 2 monsters that are pretty much exactly the same except for small differences in size and appearance. Plus the Hulk has always been a bit of a boring comic that's hard to transfer into a film anyway. They should just stop trying.

As for Ed Norton, I think Eric Bana fit the role a lot better. Ed Norton doesn't really do 'tortured soul' very well, he always seems kinda vacuous. It fit Fight Club, but don't think it'll work in The Hulk.

  • I'm just really burned out on superhero movies by now. It was cool when Spiderman came out way back when, but now they're turning good franchises into lame superhero films-by-numbers. Kinda makes it all less special, even for the little comic geek inside me. (I call him Memnon.)
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

Same. Spiderman and X Men were alright but now they're getting onto the silly ones like The Fantastic Four and Iron Man, and the ones that don't really make good films, like Superman and The Hulk.

Nolan's Batman's are great, but that's because he's made them grittier and less comic book-like. I'm kinda interested to see how The Watchmen turns out, partly because it looks dark enough to make a cool film and partly because Billy Crudup is in it and he's always great. Other than that, I'm kinda apathetic towards the comic book film craze.

I heard Ed Norton on Opie & Anthony - and I caugh the end of it - but he was saying that he wasn't happy with the final cut & the way the movie was edited.

    Anyone know more on this??

He is a nazi because he hates, as a result of his grief for his murdered father, and it is an outlet, not because of eugenic convictions. He realises that his hate is only chewing him up and nothing he has ever done has made him feel better. He kills two people because of his anger and nothing, not even the most powerful of actions, is enough to change the way he feels until he finally lets go of the hate.

Sounds pretty tortured to me :p

Seems a fine choice for the Hulk for me.
