So I missed one of my drafts last night and didn't pre-rank or exclude players because I had full intentions of being there. Anyways, I get home I find out that I have Tom Brady as my QB.

I fucking hate Tom Brady and all things Patriots.

I also got stuck with Maroney as well.

Anyways, I cannot have a vested interest in his performance so he's on the block. So far my choices are:

Derek Anderson
Drew Brees
Tony Romo
Vince Young (yeah I know, I couldn't believe it either, but I'm including him for completeness)

I know who I would go with based strictly on last year (not named Brady of course), but who do you think will have a bigger year between Anderson, Brees, & Romo?

Drew Brees will be a monster this yr. Not only does he have colston but he now has shockey. Just remember what he did with antonio gates. That offense will be lights out in the passing game i bellieve and i'm an eagles fan so im not a N.O. homer. Romo would be second.

  • go ahead. trade the greatest QB in the league.
I will be what i could be

I'd go with Romo. He's got a better surrounding cast and will put up big numbers. Definitely don't get Anderson. He may put up big numbers as he has good receivers and a good tight end, but last year was his first year with that kind of success. He's kinda unproven and his team's defense is horrible, which can be good cuz he'll have to score a lot, but how many opportunities will he get? Brees is solid, think he's gonna put up good numbers this year. But I'd say Romo is the best in terms of fantasy value. If you do trade Brady, which I would never do, make sure you get a top 15-20 RB in the deal as well. Brady will score that much.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.
  • you need to get a compensatory back or wr along with Romo. I believe the Dallas defence will keep Tony on the field and Brees fell apart late last season.
I think Anderson will be drafted too high this year and overvalued.

Romo is the choice. But it is an extremely stupid trade to make. I would package Brady and Maroney and downgrade your QB and upgrade your RB.

someone might bite on that. The second they know you hate Brady then you lose your trading leverage.

Brees is the guy. Young doesnt even belong in the conversation. Personally I would rather leave Young on the waiver wire until he shows he's worth a spot.

If you are going to trade Brady, you should try to get 2 players. Get the most value you can and do it now. After last season, his value is sky high. Put him up to the highest bidder. You should get plenty of offers.

I also agree with Wilds saying try to package him with Maroney and improve your RB while downgrading a little at QB.

Brees without a doubt. He's going to light it up this year. I picked him up off waivers last year in Week 6 after he shit the bed through Week 5. I then proceeded to ride him to my fantasy Championship. He will be a stud again this season. I wish I had him in my league. He went 9th overall in my 10 team league. I'm trying to work a trade for him right now.

i wish you were in my league.

    anyway, package him with Maroney.

like others have said, upgrade/downgrade. try for LT, Westbrook, of Addai and go for a serviceable QB.

think McNabb, Rivers, Bulger, Garrard, Kitna, Warner, Schaub

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks

I've already got Addai and a few other serviceable RBs.

The guy offering me Brees will also give me either Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams for Maroney, I'm just trying to decide which one of them to go with.

do not trade them as a package ... no one would want to trade for Brady AND Maroney ... that is limiting your team.

Either Brady scores OR Maroney scores, never both at the same time.

This may be different on other teams with backs that catch a lot out of the backfield ... but Maroney is not the pass catching back (4 receptions all last year). Deal them separately.

As for the QBs ... Brees would be my choice, but not by a huge margin. You better get something back in return.

oh, and don't tell your leaguemates you hate brady, they'll take advantage of that for sure.

    I think you're getting hosed.

You're essentially trading starting QBs, where you get the lesser of the two ... and you're dealing RBs ... where you're getting the lesser of the two ...

beleive it or not, Ricky Williams is the guy to grab of those too ... Ronnie Brown is not ready to play full time. But, once Brown is ready, he may pull ahead or split time with Williams ... again, you're getting the lesser of the two backs .... for Brady and Maroney, you should get Brees and a better running back ... at LEAST a solid #2 ... not a 50-50 situation.
