I am stuck in an endless loop thanks to my effing ipod/itunes set up.

Trying to buy album for the wife, but i am told i am required to upgrade to 7.2 (weird since i was able to buy other songs). However, when downloadinng 7.6, i am notified that i cannot upgrade my ipod software .. .then i try to do that and it says i cannot. i cannot even remove the ipod software from my PC.
I don't want to be hostile. I don't want to be dismal. But I don't want to rot in an apathetic existance either.

  • Have you tried Googling the error message that you get?

    Google is your friend.
  • working on that now ... it seems like i cannot buy the DRM-free tracks (they require 7.2+) - i cannot get to those labled iTunes Plus ... but the problem is how do i?

I agree. I've given purchasing music from iTunes a chance, and it's horrible. Your music isn't your own (have to 'authorize' computers to play music you paid for???). Now I just buy the CD and import it into iTunes. Then I can put it on my ipod, burn it to a CD or play it on any computer I want. That's the way it should be.
I smile, but who am I kidding...

Any non-Apple mp3 player is so much easier to use.
  • As a 35 yr old male, i like my CD collection and too prefer to purchase and import the CD, but this was just a little issue i was trying to work around ... i was trying to get a workout cd (cardio music) for the wife, but i guess these compilation albums are the ones causing problems. thanks for the help.

so you just can't import the music? RIP it with Windows Media Player, then use some free ware to convert it to mp3 (if necessary). Drag it into iTunes as the last step.
