Let's get it on! This is one of my favorite couple days of the year. Canada/US on NYE. NHL outdoors on New Year's Day. Whooo!

Way better than any college bowl game! Great game. That goal by Datsyuk was awesome...he was making plays all over the ice today.

That was a good game. Love the outdoor NHL! Damn, I wish we had a team here in the Pacific Northwest.

So the team would end up in Bum-Fuck, Oklahoma? Damn it. We just can't fucking win in the town. Seriously, 2008 was by FAR AND AWAY the worst sports related year in Washington State history, or probably anywhere history. The M's became the first MLB team in history to spend over $100M in payroll and lose more than 100 games. The Seattle SuperSonics left town after 41 years (only comfort is they SUCK just as bad as the Thunder, only winning 3 games so far this season). The Seahawks only won 4 games on Mike Holmgren's last year as head coach. The Husky's and the Coug's had a combined season totaling like 2 wins. I think there was a weekend where the Hawks, Dawgs, and Cougs all lost by a combined score of 4,532 to 3....or some crazy spread like that. The new MLS team, Seattle Sounders FC are sure to be an utter failure just due to their geographical location.

I don't think 2009 can get any worse. And I am just sick enough to be somewhat looking forward to spring training and am optimistic about the M's, again. Gluten for punishment, I know.

So do I! Out of all the commissioners of all professional sports in the this country, there is no bigger ass-hat, fucking piece of dog shit, crooked twat, than David Stern. I hate that mother fucker. He makes Bud Selig seem like a decent commish.

We weren't suppose to suck last year. Picked by many sports writers and analysts to contend with the Angle's for first place in the AL West, not last place. On paper we looked great last year. Hopefully we are still not that far off from what we should be. With fresh blood in the GM seat all the way down to the skipper's chair, hopefully the team can come together and put the Rangers beneath our heals as they always should be and contend with the A's and Angels for first.

But yeah, Safeco Field is badass. No finer place to be on a hot summer's day with ice cold beer in hand.

You do have a team in the Pacific Northwest, two in fact - the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames (the latter is due to a weird geographical anomaly which places southern Alberta in the PNW).

Just out of curiosity, do you receive the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation) or TSN (The Sports Network) in Seattle?

Laughs, Alberta is definitely not in the PNW. Though, I should have been specific and said the Puget Sound, instead of the entire PNW. :)

My buddy and I have been talking about going up to Vancouver for a game though ever since we went up for the PJ concert a few years ago together. Vancouver is a fantastic city, and what a great reason to go up for a visit than a hockey game.

We get the CBC or the CBUT. Not sure about the other one.
