    How about http://www.freecycle.org?

You give things away for free, other people give their things away for free. I think it's for people who don't want to bother with a garage sale. I've seen bicycles and some good furniture on there.
Walking can be a real trip

Freecycle stuff IS free. People want something out of their garage, basement, or where ever. They post to a list, "Free entertainment center, older Blah-blah area of town" and people email them. The person contacts someone to pick it up.

I've been checking this out lately. It seems easier to use than freecycle and a lot of people post pics of their stuff.

Can't click as I am at work. Does it allow this subscription to be sent to an overly religious neighbor who tries to pass on their daily ranting?

Actually , it required food energy to possess it. That costs money.
