coming up with one.

i have been in a steady state of self-torment trying to come up with a clever name for my art/design stuff. i need to make a site and an etsy shop for myself, and don't want to just do the "my name design" deal. i have gotten hung up on the name part :( and anything i wanted has already been taken either via the trademark office or as an existing design site.

i have brainstormed for ages, written words frontwards/backwards, nicknames, english/spanish, latin names for freaking plants, you name it. AGH!

any suggestions for other ways to come up with something?

i wanna have something short and clever but not cute, and just using my name seems so boring. should i just make a fucking word up altogether, or pick something hella random? i'm on the brink of doing so lol

hmmm scrabble bag sounds good. not even as a way to pick a name, but a name itself. i'm at my wit's end which is saying something seeing as my wit was teeny to begin with lol

nope...i started back in december, and shelved the process temporarily, thinking maybe revisiting it would prompt some sort of epiphany. which of course hasn't happened yet lol

irony of it is i've been really motivated creatively over the past couple of weeks, yet this keeps eluding me!

i'm *this* close to calling it "llama says it's casual friday" and have a small llama wearing khaki dockers as the logo. LSICF for short :( I NEED HELP lol

i tried that, it was taken! i've done a billion pen and ink variations in the two languages i know....i'm gonna bust a cyrillic move in a hot second!

i agree though, simple is best. i'm hoping it'll hit me soon!

i have, i did a thesaurus check for words, didn't see anything though. maybe i should do it again, perhaps somethign will jump out at me that i missed

i think the thesaurus is a good idea, give it another go. also, sometimes while looking at titles of books, moives, etc....can spark ideas for other things, wordplay, etc....so perhaps browse amazon or netflix, things like that...perhaps get those creative juices flowing. i think it's very difficult to come up with a really good name, so don't bet yourself up over it....it WILL come to you, eventually.

good point on the books/movies, i didn't think of that! i did look thru some PJ lyrics as a last resort but i dunno. maybe i'll revisit some other lyrics too, in case something hops out.

yeah i'm just being pissed about it because i'm impatient, it's driving me nuts that this is holding me up!

yup, and then the name(s) i wanted were taken by other designers, at least if they were in a different field then it wouldn't be so bad!

yeah a one word name would be awesome, something simple and to the point. not unlike the point i want to drive into my temple lol
