anybody seen it? i had mentioned it in a earlier thread that apparently just went the way of the dodo :o lol most likely because i have the hand of death for threads or something haha

anywhoo, it's a pretty fascinating documentary about gypsy music, if it's a topic that interests you, check it out! :)

    I haven't seen that one Chiqui, though I love gypsy music. I have seen a couple of Gatlif's other films, his debut one (I think) 'Les Princes' and also 'Mondo'. Both are quite oldish films but are interesting.

    I'll have to have a look at Latcho Drom.

    And for what it's worth, I don't think YOU had the hand of death for 'the' thread! :D

    haha thanks, i do feel like the grim reaper in sending threads to the great beyond sometimes...but yeah, in this case i don't think my little post was what sent it over the edge :p

    ah i haven't seen those, i'll have to check them out! if you love gypsy music then *definitely* see 'latcho drom'. it was just really neat to see the common thread throughout all these countries and cultures despite the differences, amd the influences they have on one another. plus just some really cool music and landscapes.

    understanding differences is key to decreasing ignorance :)
