I LOVE LOVE LOVE Rick Steves! And yes, I'd give anything in the world for his job. The first time I went to Europe after studying abroad I did a whirl-wind trip, and his Europe through the backdoor book was REALLY good. SOOO much better than Lonely Planet or any of the others. Now I always get his books when I go some where even if I've been before, because they really point out things you otherwise wouldn't think of as they are a bit off the "beaten track." If I move back to Seattle I am definitely going to apply to work for his company, but I don't know what the odds are for me getting hired. :o
  • Love him. :) and good luck, Jen. I hope it works out :D

yay more steves' fans :D it's a trip how he does his show though, it's just him, his producer and the camera guy. they carry the equipment and a small napsack for travel all over the place. very small operation. what is cool is when they do footage in museums, usually they have to do it when there's nobody around, like before or after visiting hours. they were in the chapel where the last supper is, and ahd the whole place to themselves. GAAAAH! i'd pee myself lol

Yeah when I was in college he came and spoke and did a book signing. It was so cool to hear him speak and give travel tips. I've been hooked ever since! :D
