new kitty baby!

i adopted a cat this morning :) they named him wilson, but i need to come up with a name. he's a tuxedo kitty, about a year and a half, and he has a bum back right leg, so he's rocking the pimp strut :D

i'll share pics as soon as i can get some decent shots. it was 2 years ago since my last kitty, trixie, had passed away, and i had been thinking of getting a pet lately. friends of mine hooked me up on the wilson tip, got him from the shelter.

everybody if you have room for a pet, go adopt at a shelter! saves 'em from getting put to sleep, poor babies.

    good stuff chiqui! Adopting a pet from the shelter is a great idea. My sister adopted a cat from the shelter last year. :)

    Congrats on your new kitty! Also, thanks for adopting and spreading the word. :) Cats and kittens have a particularly hard time at shelters due to space limitations. :( At one time last summer we had over 100 in foster homes!

    oh yeah i remember you telling me about that! yup, every pet i've ever had were either strays or from a shelter...it's heartbreakign going to such places, i wish i had tons of money, i'd just empty the whole place out and take them all! he's super sweet and mellow, i'm hoping he'll like living here with me :)

    oh wow, 100??

    yeah and if folks can, get a black, black/white or white cat....they get discriminated against :( this little guy probably had his days numbered, between being B&W and having a bad leg. he had a broken leg as a kitten that didn't heal right, so they said he might be predispositioned to have arthritis problems when he's older. i figure though, every animal develops some sort of thing at some point....he's healthy otherwise so i figure just go with it and handle things as they come.

    i think so, beats being at the shelter i know for sure! he lets me hold him and was laying on my lap earlier. my parents and sis came by to see him and he was friendly with all, so i think he's adjusting well :)

    he's like norm but in a cat....'cept norm doesn't have that much white on his chest....:)

    it feels funny having a pet again, it'd been so long. feels nice though :)

    Congarats (that's right - I said "Conga Rats")....

    Getting kitties out of shelters is awesome! Good for you!! He looks relaxed, but also he looks full of beans...call him...Mr. Beans!! Think of the nicknames - Beany, Beanzo, Garbanzo Bean, Don't Know Where You Bean, I Don't Care What You've Bean - What Are You Now, String Bean, Bean Bag, Bean Bones...you get the idea...
