This year for my daughter's 15th birthday I'm taking her to Austin City Limits music festival. It'll be a great mother-daughter weekend.

Anyway, I was looking for a place to stay, and it seems like all the hotels downtown are either booked or $350+ per night.

Are there any Austin insiders around here that can tell me where would be a good place to stay? If we don't stay downtown, what other areas are recommended? I'll be driving from Houston, so I'll have a car... but I don't know how all the logistics are going to work.

HELP!!!

I stayed at La Quinta on about 12th St. last fall. It was ok...nothing major...but cheap compared to the rest of the hotels. 5-10 minute walk to 6th (Pecan) Street.
I love to turn you on
