granted, its always sad to see someone sick and dying. but with kids, its unexpected and almost never their fault.
and people abuse kids.
and children having children have sick children
and dont give kids french frys.....ever....
listen to your obgyn for prenatal health care!
if you have a kid who died from some rare genetic disease, dont have another kid just to replace that one. its not really Replacing the old one, and this one is just as likely to have the same problem.
the good times are when the kids that have like 1% chance of living beat the odds and make a recovery. like in a rollover car accident that left his brain trying to go down his throat and luckily, luckily, luckily (as in nothing we did or could have done) it didnt. well, actually had the doctors not done something it would have killed him, but i digress...
sigh :(

A couple of Christmas' ago I worked in Children's Cancer Unit for about 8 weeks. It was the happiest place I've ever worked. Granted, some times were hard and some days were sad and difficult, but overall, the sheer bravery and optimism of the kids I nursed humbled me. I felt proud and priviliged to be part of their lives.A human being that was given to fly.
