when my apt building has power flickers during storms the fire alarms go off. sometimes the whole building sometimes just one or two apts. so i had just gone to bed. and the alarms go off. i get dressed. go outside. no one else is out. so i go up to the third floor to see if i can see any apts with their lights on.
then about 25 - 30 straight lightning strikes. .. .. and then huge amounts of rain. .... and then sideways rain,... and then wind. i was getting pushed around type of wind. ..lots more lightning in a row. i look up and can see the clouds moving unbelievable fast and circular... mother fucking circular. and then the town alarms. like the CITY of Bedford alarms. so i made it down 3 flight in 3.4 seconds. i turn on my tv to the emergency alarm system saying tornados sighted of the bedford area. they show the map of where they are... oh and they zoon im over where my apt is.... gusts of over 60 mph.
now i now a lot of people prolly are used to these drill, but this is brand new to me. i can handle really heavy snow. or what not.. not used to seeing that crap. i didnt know what to do either. should i go wait in the tub?
now an hour later they are saying that the street behind mine had the roof torn off a small apt complex and a few trees are down. newscaster said he was driving thru the area at the time and saw the same thing i did.
some people finally went outside and i talked to them. our apt fire alarms are still going off. apparently no one else knew there were tornado warnings or watches, whichever one is worse i never remember.
im sorry im just a little freaked out and it sucks cause i have to wake up in an hour and half. ... fuck...

You don't necessarily have to hide in the bathtub. They recommend you go to the lowest level of your building and take shelter in a room with no windows, like a closet or a bathroom. They also recommend taking a pillow or a matress with you to protect you from falling objects.

I am travelling for business for the 1st time in 10 years and they are sending me to St. Louis, MO and Quincy, IL for a week. I told my supervisor that if I see any tornadoes, and I live through them, he will be dead meat when I get back.
Their tornadoes seem to be a little more significant. Thanks to the Weather Channel.....I'm freakin' NERVOUS!
