i need some friends i can drink with.

i use to have friends i could drink with. sometimes i would get drunk and we would have friends that would stay sober in case they needed to drive. sometimes those pple would drink and i would stay sober. i knew i could trust these pple when i was at the most impaired. i knew they would keep me going when i needed and stop me when i needed. i knew they would stop me from drunk dialing/texting/emailing and i would do the same. when it was my turn to get drunk, they would make sure i was safe, make sure i didnt go too fast, make sure i was well hydrated, but also make sure i got to be the drunk one when it was my turn.

but now i cant get pple to go drinking with me. or i have one friend who does, but its always her turn to get drunk. we went for another friends bday, but she was taking her drinks and mine and like, wahoo, i'm such a fun drunk... that was really annoying because the birthday girl was like "this is my last hurrah. after this no more drinking for a really really really long time." and that girl had drove, so i had to stop my drinking altogether so i could drive. i wouldnt have a had a problem with driving but i woulda like to know before hand and i woulda drove My car.
sigh

so anyway, i need someone here i can drink with. someone who likes to drink but not all the time and that i can trust ,cause they can trust me.
but maybe i'm looking in the wrong place. i mean really i dont think anyone on this board drinks anymore ;)

    I think you need to not live where you need to drive to bars.

    well, when i used to live in austin, cabs from sixth street were readily available. i also used to live close to sixth street so that was awesome.
    now i just live to far.

    or i used to have friends that were bartenders so we would just hang at thier house cause they had shitloads of the al-key-hall.
    mean people suck!

    what about biking drunk? I used to do that when I lived in NC. at least then you can stick to the side walks.

    I'm not talking about being sloshed, I'm saying like if you've had a couple drinks, it's probably better to ride a bike than drive. I just always rode my bike down there because there was no public transportation. I won't drive after having ANYTHING to drink, but if I've had like 1 or 2 I would get on my bike.

    Used to?!? What the hell do you think I do every evening from 6:30-7:30?!? He said if all goes well, I should be able to take that bad boy around the block in a year or two.
