Any War Machine sightings/refrences in the movie? I heard that one of the reasons Howard took the role was because they were going to spin off him as War Machine.

he looks at another suit, and shakes his head and says next time. you know for sure there's going to be a sequel and war machine will be in it.

I loved it - and dammit, I missed the extra scene.

Iron Man is the best Marvel comic book adaptation I have seen. I was once a total comic book nerd so I always check out the movies. Every other Marvel movie has at least had moments where I didn't like the acting, script, the special effects, something... Not so with Iron Man. Kiss ass movie all around. Robert Downey was a great choice, but then again, I thought that when I first heard he was playing Tony Stark.

And the clip at the end. Awesome! All the nerds left in the theatre (myself included) freaked out.

I am surprised the movie did so well. I didn't think anyone really knew about Iron Man these days...

ok the clip that was posted with the link was removed, can anyone tell me what happened?

Also Pepper was hot, esp in that blue dress, looked 100X better than Dunst in spidey 3 (what is she aneroxic now?)

Movie was very very well done, hopefully they make a few more of these.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

there are other youtube links ... just do a search on iron after credits or something ...

basically - the great thing about marvel taking over is that they have proprietary rights to these characters and the concept of cross-overs are very real ... think superheroes that are part of larger super hero teams ...

    YEAH!!

I'm still surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. When Iron Man starts kicking ass in the 1st suit and when he goes back and starts kicking ass in the new suit, I was like, "fuck yeah, you bitches are toast!"

I want a flying suit of armor! I could just sit expressionless at my desk and blast any motherfucker who walks into my office with a petty HR issue.

Wow, so good. I was surprised how well they pulled it off considering how little actually happens in the film, would've flopped without Downey Jr for sure. About equal in awesomeness to Transformers, except Iron Man just pulls ahead since it never made fun of the concept. Really didn't think I'd like this at all, never really liked the idea of Iron Man, but the film was great great great.

    SPOILER

The after credits scene is a bit confusing though, how will they bring in more superheroes whilst focusing on iron man?

Well, they have pulled off superhero team movies before to some success IMO (X-Men I & II), so it could be done again. Clearly, the focus would be different and it wouldn't be called Iron Man so much as it would be called The (spoiler - can't say).

Check out the recently released Marvel animated movies for an idea. Those are good as well.

Aye, I can see them making a "The *******s" film, but I imagine the iron man fans would feel kinda betrayed having that as a sequel rather than a second Iron Man film.

I hear ya' and I hope they do both. I'd like a 2nd Iron Man movie to also deal with Starks' alcoholism. He was really the first superhero in comics to have such a real human problem, you know, in addition to the constant run-ins with supervillians.

Yeah, I'd like to see how they deal with alcoholism considering Downey Jr's past and everything. I think it would be a bit condescending to have the alcoholism appear and disappear in one film though, it'd need to be an ongoing thing.

I really enjoyed the movie a lot. I thought it was very well done.

As for the end clip. I was mildly disapointed that Samuel L Jackson was cast as Nick Fury. I mean no offense to Samuel but there is one big difference between the two of them. That said i'm sure that will work out fine in the end and Samuel L Jackson will be quite the bad ass nick fury was.

They have a new hulk moving coming out this summer that is supposed to be good and actually do the hulk justice.

then in 2010 and 11 they have a captain america movie coming out, a thor movie coming out and another iron man coming out.

It is possible they might make Henry Pym/Ant Man Movie also but that has not been confirmed

All of this leading into the Avengers movie that Nick Fury alludes to at the end of the Iron Man movie.

right now the Avengers are set to be Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor. It seems like they may throw Ant Man in there too and you would think they would want a female super hero too. Not sure who they would use though.

    It should be cool.

Well Nick Fury was based on SLJ in the Ultimate universe. I guess if SLJ gave permission for his likeness to be used in the comic he'd be a bit pissed off at not being cast.
