My fault for working in an "upscale" part of the city but here's some that piss me off lately..
1) Standing on the escalator in front of you (side by side) busy "yacking" not letting you pass..
2) Blocking the entrance to a room while they sort their briefcase..
3) walking slow as molasses three abreast in the hallway..
have some awareness people..
some of us have jobs that require us to be on-time..
ya know?

some time ago someone posted a pet peeve thread - that is amongst my biggest. In NYC Grand Central - tons of people coming up the escalator and these people get off and stop and pause. arrrghhhhhhhhhh!
now I jsut say "MOVE!"0 -
While I can understand and relate to your rants, isn't the idea of an escalator so that you do not have to walk yourself up the stairs?0

That's really the great escalator question. Some people think that you're not supposed to move, and other people do.
But I'm with you... I thought the escalator was there so you don't have to walk. It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win0 -

And on a side note, general etiquette states you should stand on the right hand side of the step and let people who want to move faster to walk up on the left.I'll Ride The Wave Where It Takes Me0 -

Nothing worse than people whom think they are whollythan thou attitudes...
once in a bathroom at an upscale restaurant... my daughter and I were just walking out, and this woman swings the door open.. "I say pardon us..." to be polite.. she responds "Well I would think so!!!" how Fucking rude.. So a liitle bit later we were at the bar. I stood next to her purposely and said to my friend " Oh, look, here is that rude woman from the washroom!"
Gotta stand up ot rude people!!!0 -

I didn't know there was an etiquette. If I was in someone's way I'd move if I saw them coming or if they asked, but if they told me to move or said something stupid I wouldn't budge.
If he was talking about people who get off the escalator and stand there, then yeah, they're morons. Even if he was talking about walking up the escalator I'd expect someone to move if they saw me coming or were asked to.0 -

This morning, as I waited for my coffee a woman, albeit politely, asked me to move so she could sit at the table I was at, since I was getting my coffee to go. The kicker...There were 8 other tables with no one at them...and she & I were the ONLY people in the coffee shop. I was irritated. :mad:This is the greatest band in the world -- Ben Harper0

maybe she had a secret CIA meeting there and could only use that table...
that is strange0 -
Etiquette?
Us American have none.. thats why we do dumb things like follow martha stewart and send our kids to manners classes..0 -

I guess that's "her" table. But, seriously, on a Monday morning at 7am, before I've had any caffeine...I was NOT happy about it and, I hate to say it, kinda bitchy to her. This is the greatest band in the world -- Ben Harper0 -

Well if she knew u were hitting the road with ur java... she could have waited a few minutes, I think I would have been a bit biotchy to her too... (especially sans caffeine)0 -
I can tell you and I share a lot of the same frustrations. I'll add that driving in the left lane next to the car in the right lane is one that really bugs me. If they do not pass after a few seconds, I start flashing my ligts at them. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.

Thank you for the support! LOL!! As soon as I walked out of there I was a bit embarrassed by my grumpiness. Oh well, she really COULD've waited the 5 minutes and NOT asked me to get up. Bitch.
P.S. I guess I should also add that the neighborhood I work in was heavily affected by the wildfires back in October so you just never know...maybe she lost her home and that table was all she had that was consistent. They are usually wide enough to stand on the right and pass on the left.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
