Bret Hart V Vince McMahon

I knew that they had a big falling out but I never knew what it was over. Was it over that Bret wanted to leave the company and he was champion but he didn't want to loose as champion?

    Bret wanted to stay and took a huge pay cut in order to do so, then McMahon flip flopped on the decision and told him they couldn't pay him, so he accepted the big contract with WCW and in Montreal he was supposed to win against HBK but they screwed him.
    That's the Hart side of the scenario, at least.

    Am I right in saying that he was leaving after that bout and he wanted to go out and just hand over his title after winning?

    He said he would've lost the title anywhere else but Canada because it was his home and he especially wouldn't lose it there to Shawn Michaels who he had a real life rivalry with. McMahon told the referee to ring the bell even though he didn't submit.

    What did Hart do after?


    After reading has the unedited( cut short I think) version of it being showed after on the net?

    I believe he punched McMahon out in the dressing room and then left for WCW.

    He was supposed to lose it the next night on Raw.

    After reading about it they seems to be confusion between hart and vince on weather he would give up the title?

    Bret went into the match thinking there would be a DQ finish.....involving HHH, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith.

    Yeah that's right, he wanted to have a giant scrum.

    Vince wanted him to lose it, he wanted to keep it, and I thought they eventually settled on the scrum idea stated above.

    Not that I've seen, but here is a video of backstage after the match, including Shawn lying right to Bret's face about if he knew what would happen. At the end you can see Vince limp around with a black eye, and Bret saying Vince "ran into my hand."

    Then when Owen Hart died in the middle of the ring, there was no fixing Vince and Brett's friendship, didn't Vince contact Brett a few years later and wanted to have match with Brett ?
