I have ordered two tickets with Continental Airlines for my mother and grandmother. The problem is my mothers passport is in her maiden name and I booked the ticket in her married name. How can I change it so that the ticket will be in her maiden name?

I'm afraid to say that they won't let you.

I was in exactly the same situation last week when my wife and I booked our flights with Continental to the US for June this year, the ticket is booked in her married name but due to the passport office being completely and totally incompetent and losing our original marriage certificate, we didn't know if we were going to be able to get her passport changed to her married name.

I phoned the operator we booked the flights through and he said they never let anyone change the name on a ticket. A few airlines will but Continental are not one of them.

Fortunately for us, we have resolved the situation with the passport office and we'll be getting the passport in her married name. That would be my advice to you also.

    Hope it all works out.

I will struggle to do so as the they are flying out on the 22 April. The passport would take a bit of time I think. Although I know of a fella working in one. I need to get it sorted fast

work fast... the passport office are exceptional... if they CAN possibly do anything.. .they WILL do it. The express passport only takes 10 days anyway I think, where are you living? If you're not in Dublin, go to your local post office. Just get it over with.
