I remember the day i swore off WWE. I was maybe 8 years old, a fan like everyone else in the world at the time, and i was watching it some Saturday afternoon during the height of the WWE frenzy I guess, and the Honky Tonk Man smashed his guitar into someone's face. The guy who got hit was bleeding fairly profusely from his face, and everyone started acting weird. I was only 8 or so, so don't know now if it was a real accidental injury or if i just thought it was at the time, but either way, I was struck for the first time by how totally wrong the whole charade was. The conflict between and perversion of violence and frenzied entertainment smashed into my consciousness, and i started crying and felt really upset by the whole thing suddenly. I think it was quite the independent revelation for me (maybe my first ever). I never watched professional wrestling again after that. So i guess it was also also probably my first principled stand against something.... I did still play the Nintendo game once it came along after that though, so i guess i wasn't all that principled after all. :))

But anyway, i still don't like it, but now it's specifically because it's marketed to children, and also because of how women are portrayed to these young impressionable boys. I think that's a bad scene all around. I know most will just think i'm taking it too seriously, but hey, that's how I feel, and i think people don't take it seriously enough. I guess the parents of all those kids who try to immitate it but do it for real and get seriously hurt and sometimes dead (a big youtube trend) would agree. Sorry for being so off topic! It just got me thinking and I went on a tangent, lol.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

In high school th wwe came to my high school. For some reason they were short staff tor escort wrestlers to the ring and i was asked if i wanted to. Virgil was the first wrestler to go the ring and i was so geeked up when he came up. He looked at me slapped me in the stomach and told me to pay attention. It was so awesome that's why he made the list.
