I think that is the name of it. What is the name of the airport in that region on the states?

I am trying to book two flights from aer lingus from shannon to new york and from new york to Fort Lauderdale. I can get the first one but can't seem to find the connecting flight. any help greatly appreciated

Flying into Ft Lauderdale is much easier than Miami. Small airport, easy highway access to 1 or 95. Miami is a zoo in comparison.

You may just have to book a separate flight for lauderdale. if you haven't already, check out travelocity, orbitz, or expedia.com websites.

And Ponc is right...miami airport is nuts!!!

Yeah I'm pretty sure Aer Lingus doen't fly to Fort Lauderdale, so you should check Delta, Jet Blue, USAir etc.

    What website?
Travelocity shows non stops from JFK to FLL on bothe Delta and Jet Blue, and connecting flights on United, USair, American.
Not AerLingus though, you'll have to switch to a US domestic carrier.

Delta is probably cheapest. $214 with taxes round trip, Jet Blue just a tad higher at $230 round trip.
Of course thats without knowing your specific travel dates. But I'd check http://www.delta.com first. I almost always fly them to Florida.

Aer lingus said that it would arrive at new york at 15.50 ( i take it that this is GMT) and that the other flight from JFK to fort lauderdale is time in the states or would it be GMT on their website?

Most websites will tell you the local times of airports you are flying to/from. So any flight you book from JFK to FLL will be listed in EST. Be sure of how your arival in NY is listed. Its not likely you'd be given the arrival time as it stands several time zones away, I'd venture a guess that the 15:50 is 3:50PM EST, the local time in NYC.

I was talking to a fella about it and he was saying to fly on the AMerican airline Contential ( I think thats whats it called) and they will have a connected flight from new york as well instead of changing planes. Thanks for issues about the times

    Now I'm lost.
Fort Lauderdale and Orlando are cities in Florida, nowhere near Texas.

Where exactly are you trying to travel to?
Fort Lauderdale is in south Florida a lttle north of Miami.
Orlando is in central Florida, home to Disney World.
Texas is a stae further west.

Miami International Airport is horrible. Everyone there is under scrutiny and traffic is terrible. FLL is nice but come up to PBI Palm Beach International is even better I-95 is next to the airport.

To me it's smaller than FLL but do watch the limo taxi's they'll charge 20-25 bucks to take you around PB County. Good Luck
