What's so sad? What happened to Uconndave?

I went to a wake this morning... 80 year old mom of a former co-worker. She passed away last Friday... She had a check up the Wednesday before and was given a clean bill of health, or as clean a bill of health you can get at 80 yrs old...

Well last friday night my co-worker went over to stop by and see her mom and found her passed away in her chair in front of the TV that was still playing. It was on the CBS station in town. The mom was a big UConn fan and since they found she had passed from a heart attack the speculation is she died at the end of the UConn v. San Diego NCAA game when they lost on a buzzer beater...

She went rooting the home team on...
    1996: Randall's Island I, Hartford
    1998: MSG I, Hartford
    2000: Jones Beach I
2003: Albany, MSG II, Mansfield II & III, Homdel
    2004: Boston (VFC) I & II
    2006: Albany, Hartford, Boston I and E. Rutherford I
2008: MSG I & II, Hartford, Mansfield II (saw BostonLou in the FRONT ROW!!) EV-NYC II
    2010: Hartford
    2013 Worcester II, Hartford
    2016 Fenway I
    2018 Wrigley II, Fenway II

I believe Uconndave went to Hawaii with his wife for the last pearl jam show of the tour (Dec. 06, not the U2 show) and he passed away in his hotel room the night before the show. I think I remember it being a heart attack. Sad indeed.........

    Yeah. :(

I had met Dave a few times over the years. Our ten club numbers were very close.

At the Honolulu show I noticed that the 2 seats next to me were empty. I figured maybe someone missed their flight because the middle of country was being hit by a big snowstorm at the time. A few days later, I checked the board and saw what happened to Uconndave and then I put two and two together and realized those empty seats next to me were his seats.

It's a very bittersweet reminder of my Hawaii trip.

Dave and I would talk some Big East Smack during the tourney's. I guess since his Huskies lost early this year, he'd better be helping my Cards against UNC today! C'mon Dave just help them with their 3's that's all I'm asking!
