So i couldn't get on my flight to NYC

i just got back from sydney airport where i did not get on my flight to NYC to start the tour....
Travel agent fucked me up regarding the ticket, i needed a paper ticket, was only notified monday, and told i could pick up at the airport.
I couldnt! they dont hold them!
The airline could see my booking on the flight but without ticket would not let me on!
I am now booked on a flight in 2 days time, with a 24 hour stopover, so get there 3 days late, and miss 2 shows, camden tomorrow and DC
and get to NYC monday afternoon instead of tomorrow!
somebody is going to PAY!!!

    guessing by 5 or 6!!

    That sucks. Sorry to hear it. I'm sure though, that once you get here, it's all gonna be good. But your travel agent better reimburse you. Good luck on your journey.

    I fucking hate traveling agents!
    a traveling agent fucked me over last summer too, I was told all my booking was done and just show to get my rented car and go...guess what the agents didn't reserved a car for me. Stupid fucking agent a-holes!!!! :mad: I was steamed!!! I was stuck near the airport for 5 hours before I was able to get an available car ready. Never got a discount price like the agent promised me.

    So when I booked my hotels, I called and doubled check everything myself to make sure things are done.

    all of it was booked online as well!
    they have not done what they said they would!
    i don't think my insurance will cover the ticket costs!
    travel costs and already booked hotels, yes!

    Hopefully my ticket buddy can offload the camden ticket she had for me tomorrow night!

    Well i have been confirmed on a flight for sunday morning at least!
    and don't need no paper ticket any more!
    I was told by the travel agent that the ticket was delivered to the airport this morning... 9am, flight departed at 9.05am!!!
    so missing 2 shows, missing seeing DC, wanted to see the place!
    but at least i do not miss MSG baby!!!

    so please clear soemthign up for me. are you from sydney? or were you connecting to a flight in sydney?
    i flew to NYC in feb from sydney and all i did was rock up to the check in, told them im on flight 840 to NY, hand over my passport and they gave me my boarding passes... to LAX and onward to JFK. no paper tix required.

    I had the same problem when flying to China. They sent a paper ticket to my 'official' address in England and the twat who lives there somehow managed to lose it. After threatening him he eventually found it 'under the carpet' or some such shit, but by then it was too late. I was already at the airport and had to pay an extra £250. e-bookers said they couldn't re-imburse me and that Asiana had to re-imburse me, but - get this - it could take up to 1 year to re-imburse me just £190, and they would also charge me £30 for a reimbursement application form. So I would only get £160 back in a years time.
    Anyway, I remembered the girl on the phone at e-bookers told me that I'd be re-imbursed within 10 days and luckily I had the exact time of the call on my phone so they managed to trace the call and I was proved right. I got them not only to re-imburse me the full amount but also re-imburse me for having been forced over my over overdraft limit at my bank. Altogether I got about £450 out of them.

    sta travel fucked up, sent the ticket from melbourne to sydney airport yesterday, and it arrived at the airport late!
    i thought it was an e ticket, till monday when i was told it would be there before i checked it!
    why, when they have had 11 weeks to send the ticket do they do it the day before, and why do they send it to the airport, not me!

    the thing that matters is that i am on a flight, and will be sorting the rest when i get back!

    so sunday there is no silly piece of paper ticket needed, just me!

    spread the word!!! AVOID STA TRAVEL!!!!

    I think the whole business with paper tickets is to do with countries that require visas. I can imagine that it's caused countless people to be fucked over.

    this is why i avoid transactions on the internet. im freaked out enough by e-tix. i flew United booked through flight centre with me physically in the office... yes yes the airline of choice by terrorists. :D

    bummer... cause i was gonna take a look at them at the end of year for my next trip. i guess i'll be more cautious now.

    The airline were as helpful as they could have been, no qualms with them...
    Hopefully they are nice and upgrade me on sunday!

    australians dont need a visa for the US if the stay is less than 90 days.
