ummm, Montreal is in Canada. You know that right?
What province are you moving to? I don't believe I've ever heard of a town/city called Alfred.

Update us on the location, including the province, region within the province, and nearest city or town of any kind of repute, and then we can help you. Canada varies greatly from region to region.

And cow tipping is bad, mmmkay? It can cause the cow to abort, and obviously a whole lot of other complications...

It's awful. High crime rate, farm animals rampant in the streets. Municipal services are really bad, they rarely clearly the snow and it gets some of the heaviest snowfalls in Canada. It does have mostly French speaking with all the people crossing the border from Montreal, so it's not all bad. Good luck :)
