Snow Day!!!!

Even tho I am a *grown up* I still get excited about a SNOW DAY!!!
since there are about 10 inches of the white fluffy stuff on the ground today south of the city...I get a snow day..
my university is CLOSED and I'm going sledding

    They were the best days when I was a kid,
    I remember turning on the radio, and listening to the entire list of freaking schools to see if mine was closed.
    Then, snuggling under the covers with joy!

    they keep promising us snow and we never get it :( we got about a minute of snow yesterday though :)

    All we've heard this week is that by Friday the weather is going to be severe with plenty of snow.
    It hailstoned for about 30 mins yesterday and it rained earlier for about an hour......that's....about....it :(

    Where the frick is the snow?!?!?!?!?!?!

    Crap ass snow day if you ask me... I can't drive my car in 10 inches of snow, because it just slides around into other cars, so my boss is coming to get me..

    yup, I'm really a nanny. And I kid about the bitterness in my above post. I just wish I had off to play in the snow! I take care of a baby so I can't really take him out and throw snow balls at him. Well I could but I'd probably be out a job.

    NO the husband has never hit on me! We've all become friends and he is friendly with my husband. I'd totally quit if a husband ever did that. Actually it did factor into me leaving a family once. Said husband seemed to like to put his hands on my shoulders while talking to me when he got home from work. I was OUT of there quickly.

    I know when graduate school is over and I'm a teacher I will look back on these jobs and laugh.

    Thats a hard job, I know. I own a seasonl business from April through December. In the other months I am MR. MOM b/c my wife works full time for now. I love it b/c I can spend time with my daugher but its hard ass work sometimes. I bet even more so for you b/c its someone else's child.

    thanks. It can be a very difficult job. The mom works from home and is always in the mix so its a constant struggle. Some days are awesome and some days I want to pull out all my hair and never go back. I try to take it all in stride. Being American and a college graduate does allow me to be picky about the jobs I take and command a really decent salary. But, to anyone that thinks its east money.... No way!

    Edit: please take no offensive to what I said about being American. All I mean by that is there us a huge non legal citizen nanny community here, and in many places and they will work for very small wages but they aren't legal. Also parents will pay a lot if money to have a nanny who speaks fluent English because their children are learning to speak from the nanny.

    I still live at home and my sister had 3 days off this week from snow, and that school never closes. So it's pretty cool for her. But the community college was closed to so that was awesome.

    Washington State is closed down today, and we were also closed down on Thursday! We got a foot of snow in like 8 hours on Wednesday night. Went snowboarding behind my roomies truck yesterday. And the other roomate hurt both his heels jumping from the balcony.

    Snow day was cool until the snow blower accidentally got tangled around the frozen Xmas light extension cord. Yarg! :mad:

    We sledded last week and I bruised my ass so bad I could barely sit for 2 days!! :eek: Hope yours is safer, Jeannette!

    I am soooooooo ready for Spring. :rolleyes:
