edit: got new tv, see my update!
So, husband and I do not believe in spending lots of $$$$ on a TV. Our living room isn't big and we don't have a "family room." (we have a workout room though!)
anyway, are you ready for a laugh? my $179 magnavox tv from 1998 finally died. we've been busy lately and did not replace it yet. we had to bring my 1985 magnavox tv upstairs
one of these days, we'll hopefully make it to circuit city.

make sure you get HD something because that is what they will be sending the signal out only in 2009.
My mom still has her 13" black and white in the kitchen.

I think it just needs to be DTV to work
Considerations...
How much T.V. do you watch?
What types of shows do you watch?
How far away from your couch is your current T.V?
...
If you don't watch a lot of T.V.... don't spend alot.
If you watch a lot of DVD Movies and sports... a big screen is better. 'Fraiser' re-runs... not so much.
If you are 6 to 8 feet back from your current T.V... 42" is about the max. The further you are, the larger the screen.
...
Stay within your budget... I have a feeling your next T.V. won't last as long as your old one.
Hail, Hail!!!
thanks cosmo, husband said he's looking at a 40" one. do you californian's have "split foyer" houses? that is what we live in and the living room is little as I said before....
I'm not into sports. I watch CSI and Law and Order plus some movies. Husband likes college football and vh1 so he can see all the slutty pop singers (does not listen to them, just gets his eyes full)

Yup only has to be DTV not HD though, I can't imagine watching anything other than HD now.
I got a 40 inch Sony Bravia 3 years ago and I absolutely love it. Cost me just under $4000 but they are cheaper for sure now.
first man to buy all of Stones
underpants" E.V. during DTE 7-9-03
