We almost always substitute ground turkey for ground beef. You get used to it and don't even miss the beef anymore. Season it right and it is just as good. Much better for you too.

Still use beef for hamburgers though.

I had them. They are okay but not as good as meat
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
  • I made turkey meatballs a few days ago and they were delicious. The key is to add flavor to the mixture when you are blending the meat and what kind of sauce you use with the balls.

    1 lb ex-lean turkey
    minced garlic
    1 egg
    1 egg white
    bread crumbs
    oregano
    salt
    pepper
    crushed red pepper
    worcester (sp?) sauce

I browned the turkey balls with sliced onion and when the onions were nicely "limp", I added a can of diced tomatoes/italian style and continued to simmer until the balls were done. I also I added some sugar, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper to the mix as it was cooking. When I cook, I improvise!

I make turkey meat balls often...best to simmer them in tomato sauce...no need to brown/bake them.

Add garlic, powdered sugar, olive oil and a dash of curry powder...yummy!
