I am the queen of all cats, I thought, lol...

my mom had to move in with us and her cat hissed at me. How do I get this cat to like me? Normally cats love me. She's known me for a long time. My mom and her moved in around 1/20. Then my mom was hospitalized for 3 nights and the cat stayed under the bed two weeks ago. I tried to spoil her, I put some food under the bed, etc. She only came out when no one was home (obvious b/c she used the box.)

Do you think she can smell my deceased cat's scent on the carpet? He passed away 8/29 :(

    but my mom takes care of her.

    but I give her treats.

    whatever you do, don't hold her over the toilet and flush. they don't like that.

    She's probably just stressed with the move and everything being different. Just let her get used to it all (maybe keep her in your mom's room for awhile) and I'm sure she'll be fine. :)

    I don't know but that's sad. It sounds like she is missing her mistress if she's been fine before.

    and dont attch jumper cables to the battery of a running car....

    and then attach the other end of the same jumper cables to your cat....

    cats dont like that either.......

    in all seriousness, when I moved him into my new apartment, my cat ran under the bookshelf and stayed there for one whole day and night. but once he realized this was home, he was fine. he scented up the place and now he runs the joint.

    I read that with old cats, you are not even suppose to move their litter box, they get stressed out. My mom ran into health and financial problems. That's why they moved in.

    13's not too bad. Three of mine have lived to 18! I'm sure she'll be fine given some time. Hope your mom and yours will be too! :)

    As a cat lover, and owner of currently 6 cats, I'd say give it time. Don't have any expectations. Put out the food, clean the box, and leave the cat alone. It may never come around, but trying to make it like you won't help. Just let it be. Some cats just don't handle change very well.

    yeah ive moved a couple of times with my two cats, they dont like to be moved once they make themselves at home. . .it takes them some time to adjust, they can get very moody
