Sawyer and Desmond were the alternate ending "dead person in the casket."
I'm kind of glad about that.. Locke was a bitch.

Desmond will help them get back to the island..

Sawyer will continue to be a bad ass.. Him and Kate will probably end up together.. I'm thinking Jack will die in the last season.

I think Locke was supposed to be in the casket. The other scenes were shot so no one spills secrets.

Jack- "I'll see you in another life, brother" to Despond..

    Desmond- "Aye.. Yes you will".

Best scene in the whole series..

12.2 mil for the finale. Not great numbers compared to their other finales. But that could also be because of dvr vewing where Lost is among the top 5. Also the strike moved the finale a week after.

With Lost it's pretty much impossible to tell viewing figures, especially in any dcountry outside of the US. I don't know a single Lost fan over here who watches Lost on TV. Bit torrent really has taken over.

Yeah, and as rabid as the fanbase is, Lost still doesn't get the ratings of some other shows simply because of the nature of the storytelling. It is harder for them to get new viewers to the show. Sure it happens more nowadays with DVDs etc from past seasons being available, but there aren't a lot of casual viewers like you have for other shows.

re: Nirvana & Pixies - the scene from last season's finale with Scentless Apprentice took place on April 5th when Jack first drove to the funeral parlor...last night's episode he presumably went back late in the night (April 6th) and was listening to Gouge Away...the day of Kurt's death & the birthday of Francis. Kind of clever/odd/impressive to randomly throw those connections in there.

was a great episode. really a lot to process still.

    Interesting stuff.

Really? I don't get that. I'm not saying you're wrong, i just don't understand why people would rather go thru the trouble of downloading something, then watch it on their tiny computer monitor. I've only experimented w/ bit torrent a few times, and failed miserably. When i tried to download stuff, it would tell me it would take days to finish. But that's not the point. Even i you could just watch it at abc.com, I'd still rather tivo it, start watching it 20-30 minutes in to get behind enough to skip thru the ads, and watch it on my giant tv screen (It's really just a 32 inch non flat, non HD screen, but compared to my pc monitor it's a giant. Maybe I'm just getting old and don't understadn the kids these days

then i guess abc doesn't see it as hurting their ratings too much since they choose to keep all 4 seasons in regular and HD streams w/ no charge. they still make money from it off the advertisements online.

sometimes i hook my laptop up to my tv and watch it that way, but if the cable gets loose it can look like shite...normally i just watch it on my computer in fullscreen

but i know lots of ppl that hook their computers up to their tvs to watch things and if you have a HD tv abc has HD streams of all their shows for free, too.

i watch the office online, too, for free, not sure if nbc has HD streams or not since i don't have a HDTV

that's why there was a writer's strike. They weren't getting those profits. Hopefully there won't be an actor's strike.

doh, i forgot about that! yeah, that was over internet residuals as well as dvd and other things i think maybe health care, too? but my initial reply was more towards it hurting their ratings and the studio/network not sharing profits doesn't really have much to do w/ ratings and me or anyone else watching online have nothing to do w/ them not sharing the profits. i did support the strike, however, i think the artist(s) should get more of the money than any studio be it tv, motion picture, music....when radiohead released their new album online even tho a small % paid for it they still made more money from it then if they went through a record company

I was reading an article that said originally Michael was only supposed to kill Ana Lucia, but the producers felt like the audience wouldn't really sympathise with her, so they add Libby to the mix (which maybe the reason her back story was never told)

I remember the scene with Libby giving the boat to Desmond to go sailing. The race was sponsered by Widmore. And I thought that she said it was her dad. Is Libby Penny's sister? and did she send Desmond on purpose for her father to get her out of Penny's life?

    Glad Penny found Desmond.

Also, as someone else posted, I don't think Jin is dead either.

i wondered, too, if jack is the other one sun blames. he was the one that yelled at her that jin was gone and they couldn't go back. not that that killed him but she might have some resentment.

Kate was going to go and find Jin for Sun before the chopper took off. Jack would never have let them leave without Kate, but he stopped Kate from going to find Jin, and made no effort to find Jin himself. I can see why Sun would blame him.

Jin is not dead, remember, Faraday was on the raft on his way to the freighter when it blew up. My guess, Jin jumps off and is underwater in a nick of time before the explosion, and we'll see Faraday save him. I think it is very safe to assume that Sun blames Jack, Jack himself said so. The only other possibility is Ben. Perhaps as Locke was making his rounds to see everyone, he informed Sun of the events that took place to make the ship blow up any way.
