  • Haha yeah...its the Stickman...its cliche as hell but I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for ages and there isn't really anything else I'd like most, or means more to me than Pearl Jam :)

  • basically pinch yourself where you're getting your tattoo. If it hurts by doing that, then it'll hurt a little during the tattoo. I've spent about 15 hours under the needle in my day. It is only uncomfortable for the 1st 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes of each session.

    no... not at all.. :)

dont forget it will hurt during and after
  • I had my first a couple of months ago and it hurt surprisingly little. I had my left shoulderblade done and there was only fifteen minutes where it felt uncomfortable; the rest was a doddle. If you're OK with injections, you'll be fine.. it was like a prolonged injection.

JUST got my first on Saturday...on my foot...not bad at ALL> I'd expected the worst because everyone said it was gonna kill. It didn't. 2 hours and some change, a couple spots were not happy place moments, but nothing unbearable. After though, it felt like it was on FIRE. Noone told me about that one! lol

  • the more you have "blackened" or colored in, the more "sensation" or "pain" you'll receive. and it depends on where you want it on your body....

At first it was weird, but after that it turned into almost a really good body buzz.

It is a great buzz, it's the adrenaline. Pushmepullme needs to make sure he/she eats and drinks before they go in. Blood sugars need to be good to stop passing out if the tattooee gets worked up.

I find the first few mins or so of the outline hurts the most but even thats nothing. I have a good tattooist who works fast and gently so it's all good.

As you say, it does depend on where pushmepullme is getting it done....

Getting the top of your foot tattooed hurts like a son of a bitch. That's the only place I have one. It feels like someone is carving your flesh with a hot knife. But the pain only lasted for the duration of the tattooing. Afterwards I had no pain in the area at all.

  • I've watched tattoos being done, and people wince, but they don't like, scream.

    if that helps.

I've got three so far (notice the "so far"...I want more!), and each time it does hurt, but not the hurt you think it's going to be. To me it feels like a really deep scratching, like if you scratch the back of your hand with a sharp finger nail but maybe 5 times worse or so. And I'm not sure if anyone else will agree, but I find having the outline of the tattoo more painful than the actual colouring in of it. Felt no pain after it to be honest, just don't pick the scab!!! Oh, and is it me, or does the scab feel/look like crayon? LOL

A word of warning: Once you get your first one, you'll want more! My nephew asked me about getting a tattoo etc a year or so back, and I told him once he got one he'll want more, now he's got three....so be warned!

That's exactly how it was with me (calf and inner forearm). I wanted to "tap out" a couple of times but my machismo would not allow it :p.

Some places are downright painful (soft tissue near my armpit hurt like a bitch!) But mostly, it's just really aggravating...like scratching an open wound for hours on end :p

One on my arm and one on the middle of my upper back

The back one was uncomfortable for awhile, weird positioning in the chair didn't help either

There's a sign where i get tattooed that i always found amusing. It was above the entrance to the guy's room. It said, "Fuck yes it hurts!" Hope that helps :D It depends where you get tattoed. My back & shoulder didn't hurt too bad. My fiance got her foot tattoed and she said it hurt like hell but her back wasn't too bad.

Mine never hurt, but I think I chose good locations (two on my back and one on my chest), but like mentioned above... you will want another within a day. Haven't met one person that didn't get the itch to instantly get another.
