the medical term is PTD - post trip depression ... in all my years - there is only one cure ...
to always have another vacation planned after your trip ends ... that way - you immediately have something else to look for and do not mire in the misery of being back at work ...

so my week off is over and I am back in the office and not happy AT ALL.
the environment here is not the best b/c they laid off so many people recently. i have been so unmotivated lately. thought the vacation would help...not.
Also, I was putting things off until "after my vacation". decisions i need to make that i am not looking forward to making. you know those things that you know is right to do, but so hard to do it???
this vacation went too fast. reality bites. looking forward to june. rant over.

Sometimes I wonder if holidays are all that beneficial at all... don't get me wrong, for that week, it's much better than therapy and you feel all cleansed and like a new person... BUT you've seen how great life can be and then you come back to how it actually IS and it takes until the next holiday to get over it and then you're back to square 1 again :( . It's an endless cycle.

haha exactly!!! never helps coming back to 517 e-mails at work!!!!
other than not adjusting to the time difference (which by Tues. I thought he would) - he really enjoyed it!!! he was all set w/his earphones - only needed them for Liam's drums. They did not allow smoking in the theater (which was what I assumed) and they did not even allow you to bring drinks in - so perfect atmosphere for his age. And it was very mellow and sit down. which probably aided in his becoming exhausted by 10:30. It all went downhill after I accidentally poked him in the eye!! lol.....so I missed the last 5 songs or so.
We had 3rd row to boot!!!!!!!!! But it was awesome and a memorable experience for him. Had it been in NY he would have been fine. the 3 hour difference was a killer for the poor guy.

:eek: well I didn't have THAT problem, lol, but usually something similar. I think the main problem was that most of us took our holidays at the same time... so when I came back, it wasn't just me, EVERYBODY had post holiday depression and the atmosphere was completely miserable and it just hasn't turned around yet. At least we can all console eachother.

I can't wait to go on vacation. Im going away in May and probably the end of the Summer. Im so glad I don't have to give up my vacation anymore for an ungrateful moocher. He found someone else to mooch on this summer.
