Pearl Jam Tour= Bye Bye Recession!

If consumer spending stimulates and strengthens the economy and a strong economy is a sign that a recession is no longer present then I deduce that a wave of consumer spending will happen with the announcement of a tour (ie tickets/travel/accomodations/f&b etc) -SO PJ IS MY SOLUTION TO ENDING THE ECONOMIC WOES IN THE US!! Well that will be where my extra monies will be directed ;)

    Thanks to Bush's tax cut thingy, I'll have $600 to spend on concerts this summer!

    me too! and I have been putting a few pennies aside hoping! Wonder if we can stretch and say Bush is providing money for PJ- wonder how Ed would feel about that...hmmm

    I don't think a recession is something you can choose to believe in or not. Its not like the boogie man, or global warming! ha

    a recession is a decline in a country's gross domestic product, or negative real economic growth, for two or more successive quarters of a year.

    Depends on how you define it- in short- 2 quarters of successive negative growth (in which case we are not and 2nd qrtr stimulus may ward it off) OR a simultaneous decline in production, consumption, employment and sales (in which case we would be in a recession presently)...

    Fed chairman Ben Benanke announced a new plan to boost the US ecnomony. "We have asked Pearl Jam to go on tour across the US along with new merchandizse bootlegs, etc. We feel that the band's millions of fans will pony up the cash to see the band in multiple cities and should funnel millions if not billions of dollars into the economy." Benanke Tweeted.

    In other news, due to the country's financial issues, the price of an Avocado has nearly doubled since Pearl Jam released its last album. More news to come....
