Tragic.

Her 7 year old nephew is missing as well.

It's all over the news here. Crazy.. there are reports they have her brother-in-law in custody right now, but they won't confirm it.

Apparently her sister is a CTA bus driver and she is MIA right now..

    so sad :(

But you know, there are so many murders in Chicago that totally go unmentioned media wise. I know she is a star and such, but I wish they could bring light to these issues that don't involve famous people too. Awareness brings change.

I hear you - there are so many tragic deaths all over the world that go
unmentioned and unfortunately it's the ones that are linked to celebrities
that get all the ink and publicity.
But then again it's that "in the public eye" status that makes their
    stories newsworthy.

What's worse is that this happens everywhere. I see a lot of newsworthy stuff that goes on around my house, but it's never mentioned. I turn on the local news and see stories about a adopted deer or something else just as ridiculous.

The only time they ever really announce things like this where I'm from are if they happen on public transport or in the Downtown district. It's pretty sad :(
    NERDS!

That is terrible news :( wtf is wrong with people.

More awareness for all would be a good thing. I remember when Heath Ledger died... a woman was brutally murdered her in the city on her way to catch the C Train. After Ledger's death...well she was long forgotten about.

I did want to say that I do agree that there are attacks, murders, and news worthy events all over that need coverage. Certainly not just in Chicago. I just point out chicago because thats where this is all going down.

What was interesting was on this whole 10 minute long coverage they just did on ABC, for the most part they were showing a whole montage on Jennifer Hudson. I mean, i get it.. she's famous, she lived there, its her family.. but why are we seeing her rise to stardom? Why are we focused on her.. she is in Tampa vacationing with her fiance (which has no point other then, SHE'S NOT DEAD), so why the montage of JH clips? let's mourn the people who were victimized.

    Ugh.

The victims won't bring in the millions though...

    Sadly we're run by money.

I think it's even a little sadder when these things happen to celebrities because they have to grieve in the public eye. What is everybody going to be thinking about the next time they see this poor woman?

It is always sad when someone's loved ones die, especially like this, but I can't imagine being followed around by paparazzi and being bombarded by their inconsiderate questions.
