Too many young males beleive that manhood is defined by the ability to injure a man, rather than helping one.

There are two kinds of women in this world....one that will give you strength....the other will take it away.....

I went for my honeymoon a few years back and loved it. I stayed on the north shore at the Princeville. There's two things I'd absolutely recommend:

    1. Take a catamaran cruise down the Nepali coastline. We did this with about 5 other couples (didn't know any of them), local guy and his buddy ran it. Took us down along the coastline, into a couple sea-caves, and went snorkeling. They had sandwiches and some drinks for us, nothing fancy but totally adequate. We really enjoyed this.

    2. Right near the Princeville there's a place called "Queens Bath". You basically hike down (it's not too steep, just bring sneaker) maybe a little under a mile or so. When you get to the bottom, there's all this lava rock, with warm springs in between them. You can just walk along the rock (more like boulders) and swim in the different ponds, pretty awesome.

Have an awesome time, it's still pretty underdeveloped so it's a really laid back island. You can go to multiple public beaches and it feels like it's your own private one.

Also, I'd recommend picking up this book, has some good reviews/recommendations in it: http://www.wizardpub.com/Kauai/kauai.html

  • Eat at the Polynesian Cafe (if it's still there, this was 2004). They are located in Hanalei Bay, kind of in a strip mall next to the supermarket & I remember really enjoying the food & outside patio. Buy a bottle of wine at the store and then drink it with your meal, they have glasses and they'll open it for you. I don't think they charge a corkage fee.
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

Mango Mamas smoothie bar - near mile post 21 on Kuhio Highway. Do the boat tour around the Nepali coast. ZIP LINES !! Loved the north shore the best - Hanalei is a cool town.

    Have fun !!!

Kauai Coffee on the southside of the island is worth checking out. Free samples that'll make you sweat in the beautiful 88 degree year round weather!

I lived on Oahu for 3 1/2 years and made two trips to Kauai. It is spectacular! Definately take a cruise along the Ne Pali Coast. Depending on your cash situation, I would also recommend a helicopter ride. It may seem touristy, but you will see things that you will never forget. Bring a good camera, and buy a cheap underwater one as well. Check out some of the snorkeling spots. Hanalei was my favorite place on the island. There are so many cool places to visit that you can just park, walk, and be amazed by what you'll find. Have an awesome time!!

Helicopter tour of north coast. Waiamea canyon on the south coast. What a beautiful island.
