I don't think the movie is dated at all. It still freaks the fuck out of me.

I don't know. I hate these constant remakes but this one especially bothers me. I've seen this movie many times. Grew up with it really. The first horror movie I ever saw (I was 10) and I was fascinated and scared by it.

It is a classic by all means and does not need to be remade.

What's next, E.T.? Star Wars? Jaws?

And because they are out of ideas
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
  • they still seem to think with modern movie making technologies and what not they can make movies better but really they cant, soon comes the day when they start remaking hitchcock movies.

Plus theyre not remaking it, theyre "reinventing" it, new hollywood "it" word, "re-invention".

  • Apparently, there are starlets in Hollywood who need to be made famous because they meet untimely deaths... as the 2 female leads of Poltergeist did.

Exactly. And there are millions of people who will throw away millions of dollars to see it.

They are remaking it because Hollywood enjoys raping our childhood memories.

  • Most remakes just suck. Some schmuck thinks they have to make the movie contemporary, so they can milk more money out of it. I really like John Carpenter films, and I was really surprised he allowed a remake of The Fog. As usual they tried to make it scarier by having more blood and gore. It was awful. I even heard someone was considering remaking The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock. How do you remake The Birds?

Not just that, what the f*ck was with that Manchurian Candidate remake a few years ago? That was the one that really pissed me off.

i do not leave lights on in closets....EVER!

hollywood no longer cares about making movies....they're interested in making profits.....they're assumption is a remake has a built-in audience and is relatively inexpensive to make and market....it's a product :(
