I love Apple and all.. but got my fifth computer in the last 8 or so years, and I can't play some old songs I downloaded from iTunes.. I seriously paid money for these shitty mp3s and am now not authorized to play them..
iTunes is a GREAT program,.. but fuck the ownership shit..

is it because you authorized 5 computers already?
I'm pretty sure if you call Apple you can de-authorize old computers.
For future reference though, don't download shit from iTunes, unless it's something like the EV soundtrack.0

The bitrate of iTunes songs is simply too low. 128kbps is simply a joke!It sounds like shit! They should upgrade their whole catalogue to iTunes+ level which is @ 256kbps. I think that every mp3 under 192-224kbps should be forbidden unless it's some spoken word or audiobook.0

The only thing I do not like about iTunes is low bit rate. I agree with the above post that nothing should be sold at 128k. Good grief...
Deauthorizing your previous machines shouldn't be any problem at all. Open iTunes and go up to the 'store' header along the top of your screen and select deauthorize computer. If it's not that, go to authorize and if you're blocked, it should lead you to an option that deauthorizes everything on your account. From there, you authorize the new machine and you're back in business. Good luck.drive less - RIDE MORE!0

Thanks for the info. I generally don't buy music from iTunes, but love the program. First time I ran into this problem.dirt wrote:The only thing I do not like about iTunes is low bit rate. I agree with the above post that nothing should be sold at 128k. Good grief...
